Icon Truflo OBS Series Plastic Pressure Gauges available at alscoind.com

Corrosive process systems demand instrumentation that can keep up. When your facility handles acids, chlorinated water, caustic solutions, or aggressive industrial chemicals, standard metal pressure gauges fail quickly. Corroded internals produce inaccurate readings, failed seals, and unplanned downtime. The Icon Truflo OBS Series plastic pressure gauges were engineered specifically for these environments, and Alsco Industrial offers the complete lineup.

What Makes the Icon OBS Series Different

Every gauge in the OBS family is built around a thermoplastic polypropylene (PP) enclosure, one of the most chemically resistant materials used in industrial fluid system instrumentation. PP stands up to a wide range of acids, bases, and oxidizing agents that would destroy conventional metal gauges in short order.

All OBS gauges ship factory pre-filled. Pre-filling eliminates air pockets before installation, which is the primary reason the series achieves accuracy ratings that outperform most plastic gauges on the market. Each unit also features three movable color range tabs in red, yellow, and green, giving operators an instant visual reference for acceptable and warning pressure zones. This is especially useful for bag filter and cartridge filter change-out monitoring. The standard process connection is a 1/4 in. NPT 316 stainless steel fitting, fully compatible with Icon's GI Series plastic gauge guards.

OBS-GO Plastic Pressure Gauge

The OBS-GO is the foundation of the series. It delivers 0.75% full-scale accuracy, a figure that most plastic chemical pressure gauges cannot match. As a standalone gauge, it pairs with Icon GI Series gauge guards when the process fluid needs to be fully isolated from the gauge internals. This is a standard requirement in chemical processing, water treatment, industrial filtration, and similar applications. The OBS-GO is available in 0-60, 0-100, and 0-160 PSI ranges and features a 2-1/2 in. dial in a PP enclosure with a 316 SS 1/4 in. NPT connection.

OBS-DGO Double Sided Plastic Pressure Gauge

The OBS-DGO delivers the same 0.75% accuracy and factory pre-filled performance as the OBS-GO with one added advantage: a dual-face dial readable from both sides of the gauge. This makes it the right choice for manifold panels, bypass lines, and pipe runs where technicians or operators approach from multiple directions. The PP enclosure, 316 SS 1/4 in. NPT connection, 2-1/2 in. display, and color range tabs are identical to the OBS-GO.

OBS-V Vacuum and Compound Pressure Gauge

The OBS-V is a compound gauge that measures both vacuum and positive pressure across a range of -30 to +30 PSI. Most pressure gauges only read positive pressure, which makes the OBS-V essential for any process that drops below atmospheric pressure. Pump suction inlets, vacuum transfer lines, pressure-reducing systems, and processes with negative differential pressure all benefit from this model. It maintains the same 0.75% accuracy, PP housing, 316 SS 1/4 in. NPT connection, and color range tab system as the rest of the standalone OBS lineup.

OBS-TT Tell-Tale Plastic Pressure Gauge

The OBS-TT adds a red tell-tale pointer to the standard OBS design. This secondary pointer locks in place at the highest pressure the gauge has recorded and stays there until an operator manually resets it. The live pointer shows current pressure while the tell-tale retains the peak. This makes the OBS-TT invaluable for detecting water hammer, overnight pressure surges, and intermittent spikes that would otherwise go unnoticed between operator checks. It carries the same 0.75% accuracy, PP enclosure, 1/4 in. NPT 316 SS connection, and color range tabs as the other standalone OBS models.

OBS Integrated One-Piece Pressure Gauge with Gauge Guard

The OBS is the industry's only integral molded one-piece plastic pressure gauge and gauge guard. The gauge and guard are not assembled from separate parts; they are a single molded unit. This eliminates the field filling that traditional gauge guard assemblies require and the accuracy problems that come with incomplete fills. The OBS ships factory pre-filled and ready to install, delivering consistent 1.5% accuracy without any site preparation. A Teflon diaphragm protects the gauge internals from corrosive process media while faithfully transmitting pressure. The OBS is available in PVC, PP, and PVDF to match the chemical compatibility requirements of your specific application.

OBS-2VU Double-Sided Integrated Pressure Gauge with Gauge Guard

The OBS-2VU takes the one-piece integrated gauge and guard design of the standard OBS and adds dual-face readability. It is the right choice for manifold banks, back-to-back pipe configurations, and any installation where the gauge needs to be visible from more than one position. Like all OBS integrated models, it ships factory pre-filled, features a Teflon diaphragm, and is available in PVC, PP, and PVDF.

OBS-BAG Large Dial Integrated Pressure Gauge with Gauge Guard

The OBS-BAG uses the same one-piece integrated gauge and guard construction as the standard OBS, scaled up to a 3 in. dial face. The larger display improves readability at a distance and in poor lighting conditions, making it the preferred choice for large filtration panels, bag filter housings, and process skids where gauges are monitored from across the floor. Available in PVC, PP, and PVDF with a Teflon diaphragm and factory pre-fill.

OBS-A Panel Mount Integrated Pressure Gauge with Gauge Guard

The OBS-A is configured for panel-mount installations where the gauge face needs to be flush-mounted into a control enclosure, instrument panel, or custom skid frame. The one-piece molded design eliminates the leak points that come with multi-component assemblies and installs without additional hardware. It is available in PVC, PP, and PVDF and is a common choice for OEMs building chemical process skids and contractors outfitting industrial control panels.

OBS-B Center Mount Integrated Pressure Gauge with Gauge Guard

The OBS-B uses a center-back connection, bringing the process inlet in from the rear of the gauge body rather than the bottom. This configuration is required when the pipe connection passes through a wall or panel from behind, or when clearance below the gauge is restricted by surrounding equipment or piping. The OBS-B carries the same one-piece molded construction, factory pre-fill, Teflon diaphragm, and PVC, PP, or PVDF material options as the rest of the OBS integrated line.

Which Icon OBS Gauge Is Right for Your Application

Choosing the right OBS model comes down to mounting requirements, process conditions, and visibility needs. For maximum accuracy in a standalone configuration, the OBS-GO is the starting point, with the OBS-DGO for dual-face installations and the OBS-V for vacuum or compound pressure measurement. The OBS-TT is the right call any time pressure spike detection matters. For applications where a pre-assembled, field-ready gauge and guard solution is needed, the OBS integrated models eliminate installation variables entirely. The OBS-BAG is the choice when dial size and distance readability are priorities. The OBS-A and OBS-B address panel and back-connect mounting requirements respectively.
