Secondary Containment Piping Systems

Secondary containment surrounds a carrier line with a second wall, so a leak is caught and contained before it reaches your floor, soil, or drains — and so you can meet the containment requirements that apply to aggressive or regulated fluids. We stock four lines so you can match the design, material, and budget to the job.
GF Contain-It
Clear PVC split containment that fits over an existing carrier pipe. The transparent wall lets you inspect the line by eye instead of relying on sensors, and the split design retrofits over pipe that's already in place. Above-ground use, containment sizes 3" to 6", 32 PSI, 32°F–140°F.
Asahi/America Pro-Lock
Engineered PVC and CPVC double-wall system assembled with solvent cement, built to EPA 40 CFR 280/281 for underground transport of hazardous chemicals. Sized as carrier × containment pairs, configured to the application.
Spears double containment
Configured-to-order PVC and CPVC double-wall system, with a clear Sch 40 option when you want visual inspection. Sized as carrier × containment pairs across a wide range, with additional sizes on request. Secondary containment rated at 10 PSI.
IPEX Guardian
Modular PVC (Xirtec 140) and CPVC (Corzan) double-wall system with pretested fittings for faster installation. The Clear-Guard option adds a transparent containment wall for visual checks. Sized as carrier × containment pairs.
Where it's used
Secondary containment is built for lines carrying aggressive or regulated fluids, where a leak needs to be caught before it spreads.
- Chemical process and transfer lines — acids, caustics, and solvents moving between tanks, pumps, and process equipment.
- Industrial wastewater and drainage — collecting waste streams that can't be allowed to reach floors, soil, or storm systems.
- Metal finishing and surface treatment — plating lines and other operations running corrosive baths and rinses.
- Water and wastewater treatment chemical feed — dosing lines for sodium hypochlorite and similar treatment chemicals.
Wherever secondary containment is a permit or code requirement, a clear-walled system lets you prove the line is dry without pulling it apart or trusting a sensor.
